There are three osteopaths based at the Buxton Osteopathy Clinic. Phil Heler founded the clinic in January 2009 having already worked in Sheffield and Buxton. His associates are Rebecca Burtt and Melanie Wrigley
Phil Heler
Phil originally studied Human Nutrition and Food Science gaining First Class Honours, completed a Masters in Medical Science before becoming qualified as an osteopath. He is also continuing his academic career alongside his clinic work as he is completing his Masters in Sports Rehabilitation and Injury with a view to doing a PhD based on the physiological effects of sports massage.
Melanie Wrigley
Melanie graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London, gaining a bachelor degree with Distinction. Having always enjoyed a variety of sports, she became further interested in body mechanics through practising Iyengar Yoga leading to a career in osteopathy. She now enjoys working in Buxton and Sheffield treating a wide range of conditions and helping patients understand their symptoms. She works with a variety of osteopathic techniques to suit the individual along with advice on self care if appropriate.
Rebecca Burtt
Rebecca Burtt graduated in 1995 from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in London (previously BCNO). She has since worked in practices in Yorkshire, Wellington (N.Z) and Cambridge, and has now settled in the Peak District. She is a keen hillwalker and enjoys climbing, mountainbiking, gardening, nature conservation and bee keeping.
